Andy's Frozen Custard

Only two Chicago posts left! I would normally try to save the best for last (dessert being best in my book) but I feel like I need to share the goodness that is Andy's ASAP.
Frozen custard brings me back to when I was little. I would always get some when I visited my Grandparents in Wisconsin. I'm not sure why frozen custard hasn't caught on outside of the Midwest (or at least to my knowledge). I love it's thickness and creaminess.

Plain and simple: Andy's is the best. Its decadent frozen treats made me melt with happiness. The servings were big and there were enough choices on the menu to please the pickiest of eaters.
I really wanted to try the key lime pie concrete because it supposedly had an entire piece of pie blended into it. I thought about it for a few seconds and then gave way to my chocolate obsession. I got a chocolate concrete with cookie dough and my sister got the James Brownie Funky Jackhammer concrete (chocolate with brownies, peanut butter, and hot fudge). My mom got the peach concrete (vanilla with fresh peaches) and it looked amazing.

  1. Yum! SF has been so cold that I haven't had ice cream for a while this summer. I totally envy you are having real summer there! :-)

  2. I should never admit this but, I have never tried frozen custard. Andy's looks amazing. I am still scratching my head... It must be where I live (sigh).

    Great Chicago post.

  3. We do not have frozen custard shops out here. I make my own gelato and sorbet so I am going to have to give custard a try. Thanks for sharing.

  4. This looks absolutely delicious except it's winter here in Oz and it's freezin'!! :(

  5. These looks like a delicious ice cream. Custard? I can't believe this...

Hey there! I love hearing from you :)
